AENOR Seal Data Quality Conform

ICEMD, a leading institution in the field of digital marketing, decided to undertake a project in 2016 to improve the data stored in its systems in order to be able to offer a better service to its environment. As a result of this project, it has achieved the certificate of Data Quality by AENOR, which makes ICEMD a pioneer organization.

Among other advantages, this certification ensures the quality of the information of the organizations' databases and its alignment with the business goals. In addition, it allows ICEMD to improve its data analysis and to perform more precise segmentations, which leads to customer loyalty.

In order to obtain this certification, ICEMD has successfully passed an audit by AENOR and an external evaluation by AQCLab, the first laboratory in Spain to be accredited by ENAC (Entidad de Acreditación Nacional - Spanish accreditation body) to carry out evaluations of software and data quality in conformance to the ISO/IEC 25000 series of standards.

As a result of its evaluation, AQCLab issues a report which verifies the quality of the data and the improvements addressed to ensure that the data reaches the desired quality, in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 25012 - Quality requirements and evaluation of the Product software. AENOR Conform Functional Suitability

Several media have recently echoed the evaluation and certification of the software product Functional Suitability conforming to the the ISO/IEC 25000 standard.

AENOR and AQCLab have conducted over the past year several projects that have allowed several organizations to improve the quality of their software products, and some like Trecone and Bitware even got to obtain a certificate for their software products. In these projects, after the evaluation and audit conducted by AQCLab with the necessary precision based on the ISO/IEC 25000 standard, AENOR has granted the AENOR Conform certificate.

This evaluation and certification is unprecedented milestone at an international level in the field of software quality and engineering, since it is the first case in which a software product has been evaluated and certified for the Functional Suitability characteristic of ISO/IEC 25000.

Among other advantages, this certification gives customers confidence that the software product they purchase meets their requirements, which makes Functional Suitability one of the most important software quality characteristics in order to ensure the success of a product among its users.

By certifying their Functional Suitability, the software development companies can prove that their products meet all the requirements for their customers, and in turn, customers have the assurance that the products they acquire are complete and correct functionally.

Below you can see the press release issued by AENOR and various media (in Spanish) in which it has been reproduced:

The June 2016 issue of the Software Quality Professional journal, published by ASQ, features the article "Evaluation of Software Product Functional Suitability: A Case Study”. The article explains the environment created by the accredited laboratory AQCLab to evaluate software functional suitability conforming to ISO/IEC 25000. This article also presents a case study where AQCLab and AENOR (Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification) conducted the evaluation and certification of a software product developed by the Spanish company Bitware, obtaining the highest level of quality for functional suitability conforming to ISO/IEC 25000.
