The growing interest in the quality of the software product is also reflected in the specifications and conditions for projects that organizations include when contracting of their suppliers. The Spanish public administration, in its concern for the quality of the software it contracts, also includes among the requirements of its RFPs the certification of the software product in conformance to ISO/IEC 25000.
In this last example, the Servicio Madrileño de Salud (Madrid Health Service) has published a specification corresponding to the implementation of the digital hospital model in the San Carlos Clinical Hospital, which includes the ISO 25000 certification among its criteria for awarding the contract. This way, having the ISO/IEC 25000 certification provides 7 points out the 40 points assigned to the technical conditions.
Increasingly, the RFPs published by both private companies and public administrations include ISO 25000 certification among their award criteria as a mechanism for ensuring the quality of the software products they contract, reflecting the consolidation of this family of standards, which has seen the number of companies certifying their products grow gradually.
