Product quality,along with process quality, is one of the most important aspects of software development nowadays. Because of that, theISO/IEC 25000 - System and Software Quality Requirements and Evaluation (SQuaRE) series of standards is being developed. Some of the most important standards in this series have already been published, while others are still under development.

ISO/IEC 25000 comprises a series of standards based on ISO/IEC 9126 and ISO/IEC 14598 whose main objective is to guide the development of software products through the specification of quality requirements and the evaluation quality characteristics.

The purpose of iso25000.com is to serve as a forum that gathers all the information related to software quality improvement based on the ISO/IEC 25000 series of standards. This site is meant to provide an introduction to this series of standards to individuals and companies, facilitating the gathering of information to both large enterprises and SMEs interested in improving their software products. iso25000.com is a site open and accessible to everyone, and it will include divulgative articles, opinion articles, events and news related to the purpose stated above.

MSH-Mobile 2.6.1, first italian software product whose quality is certified as conforming to ISO/IEC 25000

On the 13th of June, 2014, the product MSH-Mobile 2.6.1, developed by SER&Practices, was certified as conforming to ISO/IEC 25000 - Software Product Maintainability, making it the first software product certified in conformity with ISO/IEC 25000 in Italy. The certificate of conformity was issued by AENOR, while the software product maintainability evaluation was carried out by the accredited laboratory AQC Lab.
