The article Certificación de la Mantenibilidad del Producto Software: Un Caso Práctico [Certification of Software Product Maintainability: a Case Study] included in this issue presents a case study on certification of software product maintainability conforming to ISO/IEC 25000. In the case study several organizations took part: Enxenio as developer ot the evaluated software product, AQC Lab as evaluation laboratory, and AENOR as certification body.

In this article, the developer of the evaluated product highlights that, thanks to the evaluation, improvement and certification process, the maintainability of their product has effectively improved, resulting in lower costs of maintenance and adaptation to the needs of new customers. Therefore, the effort invested in refactoring the product is seen as an investment that will save costs in the future. Furthermore, the evaluation and certification of product quality according to ISO 25000 means for this developer a way to provide quality assurance to potential customers.
